Inspired by +S Robertson's post about stat blocks, I decided to type up some monsters to see how it would look.
It's all formatted for my shitty homebrew rules, where everything is determined by roll-under using a d20. A stat of 9 = 45% chance, etc.
Just remember that the number next to the shield is armor (2 = leather, 6 = plate), not AC, and you'll have the gist of it.
I'm also playing around with including more mental stats (not just Morale). Like, the Reaction stat tells you how likely the monster is to not attack you, and the Intelligence stat tells you how likely the monster is to do the smart thing in a situation (instead of doing the dumb thing). I think monster behavior differentiates combat more than HP + damage, and deserves more attention.
Very elegant. I particularly like the hum sloths - or any monster or hazard that makes combat into a puzzle.
